If not almost first thing in the morning, it is often before too many hours of the day goes by, I’ve made it a habit to link into one of my “distance spiritual directors,” Richard Rohr. A good friend from days past, Brian McLaren, encouraged me to absorb Richard’s writings. That is an encouragement for which I am eternally grateful.
With all of the crazy things going on in our world, in our country, in the weird fight for political dominance in our own country, let alone anywhere else, Rohr’s wisdom has been a steady light in the midst of the winds of change across our whole globe, and even right here in Colorado. One more time, this morning, I’m awake before dawn, and I find these words helping me focus for this day.
It is my sincere prayer that you will find both some solace and quietly deep encouragement for whatever may be coming your way this day, the rest of this week and month, even to the end of 2016 and beyond. Thank you, Richard, for reminding us what is real and true and necessary and possible in each of our parts of this world.
Who in your life, this day, needs the love that only you can give?
I'm confident a name has come to mind.
With creative care, go and do it.
Peace and joy to you this day.
