If changing decades requires a "perfect" day...yesterday was just about right. The day was peaceful. Hope-filled. Encouraging. Healing. Laced with honest awe. Reflective. Some people were missing. Engaging. Steady. Challenging...because of the potential power changing the world with those at breakfast. Humorous. Restful. See some of the pics below.......
The Breakfast Bunch: 17 men who can truly change the world!
Some good men were missing...and you do know who you are: some had work schedules; some had family needs; some were on vacation; some live at a distance...all were missed, in the best possible way of being missed. :-)
Then...returning home...
Judy, this precious woman I've been married to for 45+ years now surprised me with the "hoped for" and the practical. lol Doing our Spring gardening I was almost cursing at our 34 year old wheelborrow for wearing out. So...a new one for at least the next 25 years was waiting for me. AND...our amazing daughter, Shannon, sent, via Amazon, five books on creativity I've been longing for...now to make the time to read them and grow from their stunning encouragement.
Calls, cards, and a zillion Facebook greetings (most grateful for all of this...) made up the middle part of the day. Sitting in the quiet breeze and reflecting was a gift.
But...we also headed for the Denver Museum of Natural History to see if we could see Venus doing it's transit across the sun. As is usual for here, clouds obscured the sun much of the time we were there.
However...inside the museum (which always blows me away with the vast range of things going on there year round...), there were presentations happening explaining the history of the Venus Transit (first discovered in the 1700s), and we got to see the images from three of the major telescopes in the world...totally amazing!!!
This is the image of Venus moving across the Sun from a HUGE telescope on a mountain in Maui. You can see that the time is 2:02pm there in Hawaii. Look long and hard, for this will not be seen again by we earthbound humans until 2117. The presentations we also watched and heard by NASA scientists was also mind boggling. Loved the moments there with Judy...and a host of excited kids...and also a few adults who owned their excitement, as well.......
Finally, thanks, in part, to a very support and caring couple in our lives...and...thanks to the deepening love of my beautiful wife...we did a long dinner downtown...just the two of us...at a very special place. It was a bit odd...and fun...to know that everyone there (wait staff, etc.) knew it was my 70th birthday.
It was a day for which I will long be thankful.
I am eager to live into the future our God has for me/us.
I plan to be as alive as possible in all the 8 dimensions of my life for all the rest of my days (still hoping for being, at least, 95+ years old...). Sincerely...I pray the same for you.
Stay tuned...........

Yay! Hugs!
