...as we say out it here in the supposedly wild west, that saying for decades now has been the enthused statement to hold on and don't let that critter buck you off!!! :-) There are parts of the last 10 days that have seemed like I've been on a bucking bronco...in slow motion.
This olde cowboy has lived vivid emotions from A to Z.
Birth. Death (celebrating the life of a nephew). Loss. Gain. Sorrow. Laughter. Amazement. Sadness. Tears...both of deep joy and lingering pain. Being most proud of some friends...most proud (celebrating Compassion International's 60 tremendous years of rescuing children from poverty)! Wondering...what's around the next corner. Hopeful. Doubtful.
Am I crazy (don't answer that.......just yet)? How do I get out into our world what I know to be life-giving for thousands...yes! you read that correctly, thousands...and even more thousands? The world needs centering. Changing. Now. Help (celebrating possibilities on the horizon that I did not expect)! Relax....... Don't give up.
And on and on and on and on and on.......
Storming through the local mall late this afternoon on a mission, getting ready for my bride of almost 45 years to return home this evening from Arizona (trip interrupted by the meaningful and memory-making quick three days we shared in Idaho with some precious souls on my branches of our family tree...which I will share two posts from now...genuine good time was had by all), I was passing by my favorite store...the Apple Store. Almost dashed on by...........but
...the scene above caught my eye.
Whoa...glad I stopped!!!
Whipping out my iPhone, I snapped that picture. Surreal...and good. I learned that for days now people have been leaving post-it-notes of remembrance and thanks for Steve Jobs inpact on their lives (mine, too.......!). Truly amazing.
One of the people I know who works there said it has been a steady stream of people leaving notes all over their big windows. They are being gathered and sent to Cuppertino, CA at Apple headquarters. But...every day, more keep showing up.
Amazing...the impact of one life.......
The words of a past ad campaign for Apple has grabbed my own imagination. They came from Steve. They are about Steve. And, if I may be so bold, I dare to hope some day they may also be about me...and I sincerely hope about you, too:
Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify them or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.......

If you would like to read/hear/see more of some exceptional articles and videos I've collected on Mr. Jobs...an important collection of thoughts...insights...creative proclamations...business encouragement and organizational wisdom...send me your name and email address and I'll send them on to you. Good to watch and learn from for whatever and wherever you are planning to make a difference on this planet in the days, breaths, years you have left to make a difference.
And now...if you'll excuse me...I've got to hightail it out to DIA and pick up my bride. This cowboy is outta' here...with deep thanksgiving for being able to live life to the fullest...!
See you here tomorrow for Mentoring Mondays...#32.

Great Post Wes. May our lives also impact this world for the right reasons, to the right pople, in the right places!!!! Thank you for helping so many of us align all three of these in our lives each day! Grace. Pablo
