Life...to the max!

Upon reading today's blog post of my very good friend, Andy Braner, I find he invites me, and you, to pause and ponder where we all have arrived at in our world...not just our countries...or communities...or relationships.  It's a series of knotty problems and choices...years in the making...which has produced an over abundance of "nots."

Large questions:

What are the righteous and creative possibilities you are personally committted to living into and out of in all 8 Dimensions of your life?  (...I am pondering my own life here, as well...not just looking at you, or others, to make the first move...)

What, sincerely and creatively are the righteous possibilities for your own purpose-filled life?

What will you and I choose to believe to be true way down deep in our souls...what will we choose to live into and through...no matter what others may or may "knot" do?

Crazy...but in the chaos...I have some hope!

Mentoring Monday...#28 (Part B):

It’s been one of those crazy, amazing, glory-filled, immensely sad-in-places days.  How was yours?

The early morning walk mentioned in the first post of this day, MM#28-A, was necessary...as, from those moments in the dark of the setting moon I was already soulishly alert to some sort of possibilities.

Funny how that happens some times.

Grateful it’s not every day...but almost.

Mentoring Mondays...#28 (Part A):

It’s been a rather emotional weekend for this olde man.  I’m not certain as to all the reasons why.  The internal intrigue continues.

Today I was up quietly walking the streets of our neighborhood a little after 4am, pondering my thoughts and feelings from the past 72+ hours.  This is what our street looked like at that hour, moon shining bright through clouds left over from yesterday's evening showers.......

That goes for thee and me...all of us.

One never knows when being spontaneous, being willing to play at a moment's notice, will add to the life of another...unknown...or known.  Each moment of play, whether child or adult or someone in between, play builds important lasting memories for any of us at any age.

Someone, somewhere, some how is waiting for just you to play with them today.  Be warmly aware.

Yes they are...........!

We are unusually blessed to be living in Colorado.  Few things rejuvinate and bring cleansing, centering and clearer focus to the soul of my wife and my own soul like being in our God's great outdoors...wherever...whenever.

Bubbling streams and the vibrant colors of wildflowers nurture her soul.  Vistas...the more grand...the better...nurtures mine.

Yesterday, most thankfully, we got both.  Those quiet and amazing and conversation filled moments were needed...desired...longed for...after some weeks and months and hours of "intriguing happenings" in our lives (some hoped for, some unexpected) as we journey through 2011.

This picture was taken from our front porch one evening this past week as the sun was setting over the Rockies...this is looking southeast.  It was stunning to see this double rainbow seem to hang in the sky for the longest time...reminding me that purposeful grace, purposefully extended to others is still the best way to serve...no matter what may be coming your way.

...this thought was spurred on by a lively and welcomed Skype conversation I had just this week with a new friend who lives in Tel Aviv, Israel.  There is the promise of many more good conversations to come with this good man.  Amazing...the people I've been meeting lately!

What a good evening on this Friday...5 Aug '11

        We "lucked out" and had prime seats at the Colorado Music Festival's finale of this season up in Boulder at the Chautauqua Auditorium (been there since 1898...whew!...the building...not us).  In the Denver Post last week I had read about an unusual trio...2 violins and 1 double bass...who performed a wide variety of music with symphony orchestras.  Sounded good to us.  Frankly...

...it was better than good, it was excellent!

Time For Three...

is an exceptionally talented group of three friends from classical training days, who hop across a series of musical styles with great aplomb.  Tonight, they were Time For Three + Two...with the addition of a sincerely amazing drummer and another friend on the keyboard.

        Young.  Skilled.  Talented.  Full of spark and dynamism.  They brought the house down...and to their feet several times.  Their newest CD will soon be added to our musical collection.  Even as I type...they are on a "red eye" to Boston to continue their summer of performing...well worth the listen...any time.  Good fiddlin' and playing...outstanding.......!

        Before the concert my wife, Judy, and I got engaged in conversation with a vibrant couple from Boulder who are involved with the Colorado Music Festival.  I thought she was a woman I had had the challenging privilege of hearing at the TEDxMile High event in downtown Denver several months ago.  Turns out her name is also a very good one...Judy...   :-)   ...but she was not the fine speaker I had heard.

        So..."Boulder Judy,"  (I didn't get her last name), if you've chased down this blog, as promised...this is who I thought you were...from the TEDxMile High conference.  So...since you both live up there in Boulder...get acquainted.  It was splendid meeting you and your husband this evening.

...indeed...very thankful for one good evening...

Do you really want to know the truth about yourself?

            Supposedly a crisis has been diverted with regard to the US of A finances at the government level.  Brilliant folks I know, who know about what is taking place, would add the word...temporarily.  But, I'm curious if the issue has only been pruned back a bit, when the issue has not been fully uprooted and examined more thoroughly...more truthfully.

            Seth Godin's provocative blog post for today (...indeed, my opinion...) seems to be getting more to the root of the matter...which carefully does beg that truth be told.  Truth telling...that is almost a novel thought these days.  Even more novel, sadly, is "truth absorbing."

            Isn't it easier to be shifting the spotlight out there to "those stalled politicians" who seem to be more interested in creating campaign issues to win re-relection in 2012 than getting down to the truth of what needs to change.......or to "those seemingly crazed world leaders" who are forcing 11,000,000 people in the Great Horn of Africa to face starvation (...hard to get my head and heart around that number, I admit...).......or to, again, one more time, be casually sweeping under the proverbial rug of society the "almost embarrassing" needs, emotionally, physically, spiritually, relationally, vocationally of those men and women and their families who are stressed out from defending freedom in never-ending wars.......all of that can, truthfully, be easily overwhelming.

We have to begin somewhere.

I need to begin with me.

You need to begin with you.

Who will care enough about you to tell you the truth about you?

            Leadership Design Group's mission is "mentoring the future."  That may seem a bit loftly.  But...we have to begin somewhere...one good, purposeful life at a time.  Like your life.  Like mine.  Right were we find ourselves.

            It's hard to tell the truth, some times (if we're honest).  Most of the time we sincerely do think the truth...and even tell it.  However, some times it's harder to be told the truth.  Someone, who lived their words to the fullest measure in every one of the eight dimensions of their own life, once said, "Truth will set you free."

That is still true.

That will always be true.

            Intentional, deep-change, whole-life, transformational mentoring across the generations, across cultures, across the significant needs, across the amazing possibilities of making a difference in our world will help people not only tell the truth, but live the truth.  This is my life for the rest of my days...in a wonderful, increasing number of creative directions.  It can also be yours...with greater dividends than you may imagine right now...for others...even for yourself.

            To date, this olde man has been alive for 25,260 days.  It is my deep hope, my daily prayer, to live to at least 95 (...though, agreed, not guaranteed...), and even beyond.  Thus, I've got, as of today, 9,439 days to go to that mark of 95.  There is so much yet to be done...even as dawn breaks on this new day.

What is yet to be accomplished in and through your life?
