Life has certainly had it's twists and turns for us. Maybe even you, too. But this I will say before I turn in for this day, and gain the rest needed for tomorrow...what is taking place in our lives...and yours...is wrapped up in an ancient saying that is still true, even after all these centuries...and always will be.
AMDG
Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam
...for the greater glory of God
In hope-filled, inspiring moments, and in the confusing, harder moments of our lives, this is what we are alive to reflect...no matter what. It is in that I rest this night...no matter what. I will trust our God...no matter what...though human enough to know I/we cannot do that on my/our own.
So it is with the plants we've put into the ground this weekend. They remind us that it's a partnership between us and them to flourish and become what there were created to be. So it is with us and our Triune God. We're ready for the future...as it comes to bloom...day by day by day.
...surveying the good work accomplished together...
A grace-filled friend from Canada sent us this earlier today, prayerfully aware of some decisions we will soon be making. It is a blessing I also leave with you, encouraging you to trust the One in what ever decisions you, too, will face tomorrow...or soon. She wrote:
This morning at church we finished with a blessing that I thought you would enjoy and so I pass it along to you both in your week, in your current journey and with the appointments that lie ahead for you. This prayer came after our communion/meal time. You are both on my heart as you journey this week.
The Blessing*
Living God, Shepherd of your people, thank you for gathering your
flock and for feeding us today. Thank you for the company of all
your faithful friends to share the story and the meal.
Send us on the journey of this week with your power to
protect us and your Spirit to inspire us, every step of the way.
May the Good Shepherd bless you with strong protection and the
food you need to make you grow in body, mind and spirit. And the
blessing of the holy and glorious Trinity be yours as well, with
power to pass these blessings on, now and for ever. Amen.
*Prepared by the Liturgical Commission, the Anglican Church of Australia June 2008
With much love, deep peace, and blessings to you both
And so...good night for this Sunday--22 May '11 (...and we're all still here, no matter what the predictions were for yesterday...). I think we are almost ready for this summer...no matter what. Life IS an amazing adventure. Thankful we can be on it together.
Stay tuned...........
