...an acquaintance, a good and brilliant man I know, who lives just a few miles to the south of us, has been writing for some months now on a blog about race, one that I read with interest as it shows up on my Google Reader and find informative, fascinating, provocative and more often than not.......convicting

...my friend, Jim, wrote this a few weeks ago

...worth the reading and pondering, should you have any ounce of concern about issues of race in your own soul or neighborhood or country

...they're right:

...some friends, whom I value more than they realize, will know, or at least assume with their brand of certitude, that with this confession I've, one more time [...their opinion...] fallen off the "evangelical perch"

...why?

...does anyone know what a "gosh" or a "goodness" is?

...we've all seen the well-worked Twitter "word"  OMG

...some times the "G" is interpreted "gosh"

...or "goodness"

...or "God", or maybe even "god", lower case

...quietly stunned...........

...almost totally

...except I'm still breathing

...but differently than when I began reading

...provocative, soul-stirring, convicting

...will continue to ponder

...what do you hear in these words?

Would God be impressed with thousands of rams,
   with buckets and barrels of olive oil?
Would he be moved if I sacrificed my firstborn child,
