...in this remarkable world of ours (yup! I know it's messed up beyond belief in too many places), BUT there are also some remarkable things taking place
...Sivin Kit, in Malaysia, is fast becoming one of my new heroes
...at least twice a month, Sivin and I have profound mentoring conversations via the "miracle" of Skype (...thus, between 8-10 AM this coming Wednesday, it's "Sivin-time!")
...in the craziness of international time zones
...and with Malaysia not doing the Daylight Saving Time thing
...I get on Skype here in Colorado at 8 AM, and he connects at 10 PM there
...usually his oldest child, a precious daughter, stays up long enough (he's assured me that their culture is a "late-to-bed" one) to say hello (earlier this year via the webcam I was able to show her new fallen snow), and her next sibling, a brother, is even staying up some times to wave hello...moments I treasure. :-)
...in a country that has a distinct Muslim populace, Sivin, as a Christ-follower, as a Lutheran pastor, as a vibrant, concerned world citizen, has been invited into some amazing conversations with Muslim educatiors and other Muslim leadership in his country
...I see this as him finding unusual favor from our God in being invited into open, vibrant, engaging, necessary, valued dialogue (remember, the God of Abraham is also claimed as the God of Judeaism and Muslims) that is beginning to have impact over there...and elsewhere
...Sivin has several blog sites at which you may keep up with him and his sacred journey
...humbled, am I, to get to journey with him in all seven dimensions of his life
...and for you Facebook friends, track with him there, as well
...both of us thank God for using Brian McLaren in getting us together
...Sivin...indeed, I thank God for you!!!

Thanks Wes for all your encouragement. You're such a blessing! I'm still amazed by the surprises popping up each day.

Was just wondering if I could ask you a question...watched a video AGAIN at 5:30 AM this morning I am captivated by it. Larry Crabb talking about Spirit Alive Christianity vs Good Enough and creating Spiritually Transforming Small Groups he mention his Small Group and Wes and was wondering if that happened to be you.
It's an older video from a Willow Creek Conference it has really got me thinking. Anyway simply curious. I am grateful for all you write here and the people I have met via your directs to other blogs. Thank YOu
