...through the significant miracle of adoption

...we held our beautiful, bound to be brilliant and creative, newborn daughter, Shannon, 20 minutes after we heard her first cry

...who has grown up to be one of the most delightful humans we've ever known

...it's been a most amazing journey for us as a family

...how we love her

...happy 33rd birthday dear daughter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...for some reason I'm smiling, even as I typed in those "divisions" of Jesus' Church that begins this post for your weekend pondering

...tonight, and tomorrow we will be attending two events with Richard Rohr, whom our wild Triune God is using to help inform my soul in recent years in some radically important ways

...we will be there with reps and ragamuffins from the whole church, not the divided church, and we are looking forward to the time of challenge and refreshment

...Rohr is a Franciscan priest who functions out of the Center for Action and Contemplation to the south of us in Albuquerque, New Mexico

...so, when doing some sorting and filing earlier today I came across what follows
