...as you take time to read through this post, I encourage you to pay good attention to the three highlighted areas...important reads...concerning a critical cause...by people I deeply value and respect and count as special friends
...Judy and I had the significant privilege of being in Colorado Springs last night at a meaningful dinner gathering for Children's HopeChest...click on the highlighted area before reading on
...as the evening continued from welcoming reception to warm farewells, the sacred privilege of being there only increased
...Tom Davis, President of CHC, his exceptional staff team, and the CHC Board of Directors (in for meetings today from around the country), and a lively group of faithful supporters, shared moments that will not be easily forgotten
...among several, one of the more stirring moments was when the new CHC video was premiered concerning their new work with orphans in Ethiopia...watch it again on the Children's HopeChest link, above, before you continue to read...and allow the images and message to sink into your own soul
...again this morning tears showed up in these olde eyes as I've watched this DVD several times through
...and for those of you who follow Mike Todd's blog, watch carefully for a brief cameo of Mike picking up a precious child, when he was with Tom in Ethiopia just a few weeks ago
...both men, radical, Christ-following activists of the finest order, humble this olde soul as they count me a mentor in their lives and ministries, and I count them as deeply valued friends/vibant younger brothers in Christ/life-apprentices of depth
...it is men like these, among a growing number of women and men I know from around the globe, who give me hope for change in our world of the necessary kind

WES: Betty and I cannot tell you how much we appreciate your bonding with our son Mike and with Sue. You are a gift from God to them both as they give themselves to a world of great need. God bless.

that video was pretty powerful, huh! the trip was nothing short of extraordinary. we love what CHC is doing around the world and especially in Ethiopia. Looking forward to what God will do if we're just obedient in serving the least of these. Looking forward to knowing you guys more.
